get to know EAST TOWN GET DOWN

We are Calgary's music festival on International Avenue, going into year four.

Inspired by the thriving Calgary independent music scene, major multi venue festivals like SXSW, Sled Island and the excitement of International Avenue, East Town Get Down melds location, food and performance into an immersive one night event.

Featuring intimate venues, unique food and drink, and a range of performers to suit all musical tastes, East Town Get Down is shaking up the festival landscape in Calgary, kicking off the summer season with an international flare.

THANK YOU TO OUR GENEROUS PARTNERS

Land Acknowledgement
East Town Get Down acknowledges that our festival takes place on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot people of the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations and the Blackfeet Nation south of the US/Canadian imposed border). In 1877 Treaty 7 was signed, which includes in its area the Blackfoot Confederacy, the Tsuut'ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (of the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations). This City of Calgary is also home to Metis, Inuit and visiting Indigenous Nations, status and non-status.
We value the contributions that members of the Blackfoot Confederacy, and members of all Indigenous Nations continue to make, particularly in the area of music which is the focus of East Town Get Down, increasing the richness of our community for all.
